Blowing Rock Conference Center

The Blue Ridge Learning Campus is located just outside the historic village of Blowing Rock, North Carolina on the grounds of the Blowing Rock Conference Center.  A two-hour drive from Charlotte and Greensboro airports, the Blowing Rock Conference Center hosts year-round retreats, camps, and conferences providing accommodations, a dining hall, and formal and informal meeting and activity spaces for groups from 20 to 350 people. 

Blowing Rock is minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and offers easy access to award-winning restaurants, a host of attractions, and a wide range of outdoor activities including golf, cycling, skiing, hiking, and climbing.

Blue Ridge Discovery Course

Designed to challenge participants physically and emotionally in a safe and supported environment where the participant always choses the level of challenge.

Trained and competent facilitators use modern safety equipment to guide groups through this unique classroom. Learning outcomes center on the fundamentals of trust, mastery of technical skills and systems, and interpersonal communication and coaching. Accessible to a wide range of ages and abilities, the Discovery Course is a defining activity that builds group cohesion through a shared and challenging experience.

The Discovery Course has a peak elevation of 55 feet, features dual 550 foot zip lines, a soul screaming giant swing, and can accommodate group sizes from 10 to 50.

Flexible Activity Space

Working with Blue Ridge Learning gives you access to the expansive Blowing Rock Conference Center grounds and facilities. Open fields and stands of mature forest serve as the ideal outdoor classroom and are complimented by a wide range of indoor meeting and activity space adaptable to most any group.

Gather at the outdoor gazebo and pavilion, host breakout sessions on various patios and decks, and spend an evening around a campfire at one of two designated fire rings with benches. Gather indoors and get down to business with a choice of meeting rooms and conference halls, each with unique character and atmosphere. The Ken Clapp Gymnatorium features a climbing wall and indoor challenge course allowing your group to achieve outcomes even when inclement weather limits outdoor activities.
